Bridget Eromosele Akowe
Recruiting Specialist
Growth is uncomfortable, but so is staying the same.
“Growth is uncomfortable, but so is staying the same.”
She published academic research. She earned a Master’s degree. Then she pivoted into the world of remote work, and never looked back. This is the story of one of Afrisource Hub’s most reliable professionals.
Beyond the Desk
Bridget is a fashion designer at heart. She creates original garments from fabric, a hands-on creative practice that reveals the same eye for detail and structural thinking that makes her excellent at her day job. By her own honest admission she’s naturally shy, not awkward, just someone who gravitates toward low-key environments rather than the center of attention. That quiet quality makes her a better listener, a more careful communicator, and a more thoughtful teammate. Outside of work she reads widely across many domains, writes, stays active in online communities, and is always picking up new digital skills.
A Journey of Growth
Bridget’s academic journey started far from recruiting. She holds an M.Sc. and B.Sc. in Geophysics from Rivers State University in Port Harcourt, Nigeria, and her Master’s dissertation was published on ResearchGate, the product of months of rigorous research and the kind of follow-through most people abandon when things get hard. A geophysicist doesn’t just know science: she’s trained to analyze complex systems under uncertainty, manage processes methodically, and find patterns where others see noise. Those same skills carried her from seismic data straight into candidate pipelines, recruiting, and remote operations, skills she picked up without any formal training, stepping into unfamiliar industries and delivering from day one.
Finding a Home at Afrisource
At Afrisource Hub, Bridget’s role sits at the intersection of people, process, and performance. She supports the recruitment process by identifying, engaging, and matching candidates to roles, but that undersells what the job actually involves. She’s worked on recruitment outreach campaigns, candidate sourcing, social media content creation, customer communication, call reviews, and virtual assistant operations across LinkedIn, Facebook, Instagram, Reddit, and X. In her own words, she’s the person who steps in to organize things when processes feel scattered, and that instinct to bring clarity to chaos is exactly what makes her indispensable. Her core strengths span recruitment and candidate sourcing, client communication, social media strategy, content creation, and CRM and workflow organization, using tools like GoHighLevel CRM, Google Workspace, Canva, and the major social platforms every day.
Navigating Challenges
Recruiting rarely runs in a straight line, and Bridget has faced her share of hurdles. In her own words, three moments stand out: resolving a payment processing crisis, working through declined credit card transactions to a smooth resolution without escalation; identifying the root causes behind membership access failures and coordinating timely fixes to protect the client experience; and generating new real estate leads while successfully renewing expired memberships for a real estate association, following outreach all the way through to conversion.
Major Accomplishments
Bridget has worked across real estate associations, NGOs, digital marketing agencies, and virtual assistant operations, and the pattern of her impact has stayed consistent: zero client escalations tied to her process, five or more social platforms actively managed for clients at once, and measurable gains in revenue, leads, and response times across her engagements. The numbers are the surface; the real story is in the challenges she worked through to get there.
Lessons from the Field
“You don’t always need to have everything figured out before you start. Clarity often comes through action.” That’s the lesson Bridget’s journey keeps reinforcing. The values that guide her show up in how she communicates, how she handles pressure, and how she approaches roles she’s never done before: discipline, consistency, adaptability, honesty in communication, follow-through, and reliability. As she puts it herself: “Growth is uncomfortable, but so is staying the same.”
